Welcome to the website of the San Francisco State chapter of the California Faculty Association!
The CFA is about doing what we can to preserve and enhance the mission of the California State University system, the “people’s” university. Of course, for CFA, our work to serve the mission of CSU starts with maintaining a fair contract that enables us to recruit and retain the highest quality faculty.
We are proud of the essential role CSU, including San Francisco State, plays in making California a state where working people can aspire to meaningful careers and where an educated population can forcefully demand economic and political justice. At our campus take particular pride in serving a campus as diverse as San Francisco State. We are also proud to be members of the largest chapter in CFA.
To play our part at San Francisco State, those of us who are active in the chapter do what we have learned from our experience as unionists and activists. We are always looking for new ideas as to how we can better do our job, especially in this turbulent time.
I invite you to get involved in helping our chapter work in pursuit of its mission. Please feel free to attend our executive board meetings, noticed on the website. Also, please look for notices of membership meetings. If you want to contact me, I can be reached at ramonc@sfsu.edu or 415 405-2151.
